Lifestyle Profiling: Convert Insights into Action
The importance of monitoring your lifestyle
Well-being is complex, encompassing emotional, psychological, and social functioning. Athletes with high well-being perform optimally in high-pressure environments, overcome obstacles, and enjoy long and successful careers – Bailey A. Thompson
Whether you are an elite or an amateur athlete, you need to know the importance of monitoring your lifestyle if you want to reach your competitive best.
Priming your body and mind for peak performance means that you have to make the right lifestyle choices. Share on X
Before you can do this, you need to gain insights into how your lifestyle might be affecting your ability to compete. Coaches need to be aware of the lifestyle habits and stressors that are affecting the performance and well-being of their athletes as small changes can have a significant impact during training and competition.
Lifestyle factors that can inhibit your performance
Of course, if you go out drinking and partying every night, it doesn’t take a genius to point out that this will impact negatively on your athletic prowess. But there are less obvious lifestyle factors that can inhibit your performance: things that you might not be aware of that can prevent you from reaching the limits of your potential. These might be subjective factors such as those raised by your sleeping cycle or self-motivation issues, or they can be objective factors such as nutrition and diet.
Metrifit’s lifestyle profiling functionality provides insights
Metrifit’s lifestyle profiling functionality provides insights that can be converted into action and, ultimately, success on the track or field. Intuitive and easy to use, it won’t overwhelm you with data and information: we’ve designed it so that it only provides ‘actionable intelligence’, which means information that is most likely to be acted on. The simple interface combined with the sophisticated analytics the software uses delivers a uniquely powerful and effective tool which can be used by both athletes and their coaches, for enhancing team or individual performance when it matters most.
By educating athletes we make them more self-sufficient
We understand that coaches can only give so much of their time to the group, which is why we aim to empower athletes with the knowledge and technology our team has developed over many years working in this area.
By educating athletes, we make them more self-sufficient. We give them the means to fine tune their bodies and minds toward achieving optimal performance on the playing field. Share on X There may be only a lot of minor adjustments to be made but together they all add up to effect real improvement in your performance. We’ve done the research and all our clients agree: making these changes will give you a genuine physical and psychological competitive edge.
If you persevere long enough, if you do the right things long enough, the right things will happen – Menan Rheaume
In sports, as in most other endeavors, there is no fast track to success. Of course, it helps if you have natural talent but there is no avoiding the training and coaching and conditioning needed if you want to succeed. Metrifit’s lifestyle profiling functionality helps educate and empower athletes to make lifestyle changes that can improve performance, both on and off the playing field, and thereby improve your team’s chances for glory.
About Metrifit
Regardless of what monitoring tool or application you decide to use for your athletes and team, it is crucial that you understand why you are monitoring and how you are going to use the data to inform your decision making process. By monitoring key areas, coaches can help manage the 24-hour athlete and have a positive effect on athletic performance.
Successful change is about small steps in the right direction rather than giant leaps forward. Monitoring is key to getting the balance right. Share on X
Metrifit’s approach not only covers the physical requirements of a particular sport but also helps the coach derive the benefits of other factors that have a significant influence on an athlete’s well-being: training, body, nutrition, mind, and sleep. In this short video, we explain how Metrifit works for both the athlete and the coach.
